Crystal Lee Julian sentenced for expletive-ridden tirade at cops who busted her stealing $270 pair of shoes

A mum-of-four who was caught red-handed stealing a pair of $270 shoes launched into a loud expletive-ridden rant at the police who arrested her.

A mum-of-four who was caught stealing a pair of $270 shoes tried to give police a fake name before launching into an expletive ridden rant, calling the officers “f---ing pigs.”

West Ipswich woman Crystal Lee Julian was fined $500 in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Staff members at Rebel Sport Redbank Plains called police to report a woman had stolen a pair of $269.99 shoes on October 4.

Julian, 36, was caught on CCTV pretending to look around the store while putting the shoes into her bag and replacing their box with a display pair.

The court heard Julian left the store with the shoes as staff members called police and were able to identify Julian to them.

Police caught up to Julian on Redbank Plains Road and recovered the shoes, which the court heard were not damaged but had blood on them.

Julian gave the police officers a fake name but when check’s revealed the name “didn’t exist” she said it was her sister’s.

The court heard Julian then launched into a tirade, shouting and swearing at the police.

“You’re f---ing d---heads,” she shouted.

“F---ing pigs.”

Police warned Julian to calm down but she continued yelling and causing a scene, leading the officers to arrest her and transport her to the watch house where she was granted police bail.

Julian pleaded guilty to one charge each of commit public nuisance, stealing and contravening a police direction.

The court heard Julian was unemployed and on Centrelink but was willing to pay restitution for the stolen shoes.

Julian was fined $500 and ordered to pay $269.99 restitution to Rebel Sport, both referred to SPER.
