A woman was left battered in her own home after her partner’s mate launched a violent attack.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Bridie O’Shea said Lisa Jane Trudgett punched the woman in the head several times after the victim verbally abused her mate and called him ‘a bad father”.
“(Trudgett) tried to stand up for the witness, the victim told her to f—k off, the defendant threw a right hook,” she said.
During the assault Trudgett attempted to leave the home although after being sworn at and followed to her car, she again punched the woman – this time in the back of the head.
The misguided honour towards her friend’s parenting skills landed Trudgett in court where she pleaded guilty to common assault on Wednesday, November 10.
When the fight broke-out on March 28 at Ellengrove, the 23-year-old who works in the building industry, was on parole and probation.
In 2020 Trudgett was convicted of multiple crimes which included robbing then dragging a man alongside her vehicle, driving on meth and MDMA, and stealing a BMW.
Magistrate Virginia Sturgess said most of Trudgett’s history was largely made up of driving offences and was recently on probation for dishonesty and dangerous driving.
“Another offence of violence won’t be treated leniently… (and) another driving offence will most likely see you with a jail term,” Magistrate Sturgess warned Trudgett.
Trudgett was sentenced to complete 100 hours of community service.
