An Ipswich mother of four has been sentenced after she pleaded guilty to 30 counts of supplying methamphetamine and other drugs over a period of just four months.

Cassandra Hope Carroll, 44, appeared in Ipswich District Court on Thursday, charged with 12 counts of supplying schedule one dangerous drugs, 18 counts of supplying schedule two dangerous drugs, and possessing something used in the commission of crime.

It is understood the supply offences occurred from February to June last year.

The Leichhardt woman was also found to have been in breach of a suspended sentence.

Thursday was not the first time Ms Carroll fronted an Ipswich court, with her pleading guilty to unlawful use of a motor vehicle and entering a dwelling with intent by break in company in November 2018.

She was sentenced at the time, alongside her daughter and co-offender Courtney-Lee Louise Carroll, to 15 months imprisonment.

The mother-daughter duo also admitted to being involved in a 2015 home invasion at Leichhardt in October 2017.

On Thursday, the court heard Ms Carroll grew up in Ipswich, attended high school, and engaged in work before becoming a full-time mum to her four children.

Judge Lynch QC acknowledged Ms Carroll suffered a long-term addiction to drugs, telling the court that her inability to stay away from them made him “pessimistic” about her future.

He took Ms Carroll’s early guilty pleas into consideration when deciding a sentence, as well as the fact she had been in custody since August 13 for unrelated offences.

Ms Carroll was sentenced to two years imprisonment for supplying schedule one drugs, which is to be served concurrently with shorter terms for her other offences.

Her parole release date was set as April 27 next year.
