Ipswich residents could soon have the opportunity to join one of the world’s hottest training programs, with a new workout studio proposed for the city’s CBD.
Body Fit Training this week lodged an application with Ipswich City Council to develop the brand’s latest club at 81 Brisbane St.
If approved, the applicant said it will offer “athlete-inspired programming” blended with technology, delivered in the form of 50-minute group workouts with a one-on-one focus.
Participants will have the option of 10 different “progressive and results driven” core programs, including ‘strength’, ‘cardio HIIT’, and ‘power and balanced’.
The workouts would be guided by demonstrations displayed on screens around the studio so instructors can focus on “coaching and motivating” members.
“Each of the programs is progressed over four to six weeks, allowing participants to truly learn the skills and progress their fitness and conditioning incrementally,” the application read.
“All programs are scalable, so no matter what level of fitness a participant is, they are able to step straight in and get to work at the level that suits them.”
The proposed 700 sqm floor plan includes a reception, shop, seating area, office space and training floor, which would be open to members Monday to Friday from 5-9am and 4-8pm, and Saturdays from 6-10am.
An array of equipment, such as Ski Ergs, battle ropes, a sprint/lunge track, S-Drive trainers, and CrossFit rigs, would be incorporated in the group classes.
The Ipswich club is proposed to operate with two employees and would be accessible via Wharf St.
A total of 22 carparking spaces would be provided on site.
With existing studios spread across the world, including in the US, New Zealand, Singapore, and Australia, Body Fit Training has become a ‘cult’ training regimen in the three years since its establishment.
What began as a small four-studio operation in Melbourne has since captured the attention of numerous high-profile sporting figures, such as ex-cricketer George Bailey and former NRL players and brothers James and Mitch Aubusson, which has helped catapult the business to success.
Each program offered by the franchise was personally designed by Body Fit Training founder and joint CEO Cameron Falloon, who was once the personal fitness trainer for Princess Diana.
The brand’s proposed expansion into Ipswich comes as a number of other studios open around the world, with its first site set to open in Toronto, Canada.
Another will open soon in the UK city of Leicester.
