Brisbane Valley Rail Trail mountain bike crash: Woman in 60s suffers critical head injury in Moore

A rescue helicopter has been tasked to the scene of the crash on a popular recreation trail, with a woman suffering a critical head injury.

A woman in her 60s is fighting for her life after a mountain bike crash on a popular recreation trail near Kilcoy on Thursday morning.

A rescue helicopter was tasked to the incident on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, with critical care paramedics currently treating the woman at the scene.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the woman had suffered a critical head injury, with the crash occurring on a section of the trail in Moore about 10.20am.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue 511 helicopter was tasked from the Sunshine Coast.

The woman was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

A Queensland Police spokesman said police were not in attendance.
