Bremer Radio is broadcasting commentary of Ipswich Rugby League’s match of the week

League fans can now keep up to date with the IRL match of the week via a local digital radio station’s live broadcast.

Anthony "Bomber" Breeze and Peter Carey get set for a big call of the Ipswich Rugby League match of the week.

Ipswich A-Grade rugby league matches are set to receive a boost in prominence thanks to a collaboration between the local league and West Bremer Radio.

The independent digital radio station has been broadcasting the IRL A Grade match of the week for several rounds now, with commentary live from the sidelines.

Station manager Bradley Clarke said it was important to Bremer Radio to support the Ipswich footy stars of the future.

“We see this as a great opportunity to not only connect with our local clubs, but also to bring grassroots sports to the forefront,” he said.

The digital broadcaster also live streamed The Karting Queensland State Championship live from Willowbank raceway over three days in October last year.

Rugby League Ipswich Chairman Anthony Breeze said the support of local media outlets was vital for the game.

“We would like to thank West Bremer Radio for coming with us on this journey and appreciate their support,” he said.

“It’s a great platform for fans of your to keep in touch with results from afar or if they can’t get out to the games.”

The next game is this Sunday, with the Goodna Eagles up against the Ipswich Jets. Coverage is from 2:30pm and kick-off is at 3pm.
