LATEST: Police are continuing their search for four men involved in a violent home invasion at Pine Mountain.

A couple was targeted by the four masked men, who broke into a home on Glenross Dve about 4am yesterday.

The men woke the couple, before assaulting them and tying them up.

They stole three firearms, cash and other items from the home before fleeing in the couple's 2008 Toyota Prado.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Elisha Edwards said the vehicle was found burnt out at Hidden Vale, near Grandchester, about 6.30am.

"As you could understand the victims are traumatised," Snr Sgt Edwards said.

"They have been woken at 4am by these four males, so we are supporting them while trying to get more information."

The victims, aged 59 and 61 received minor injuries as a result of being punched in the face and were treated at the scene.

They were able to sound the alarm a short time after the offenders fled the property.

Police confirmed the three firearms stolen during the incident were all registered and stored correctly.

Investigators refused to elaborate on the type of firearms involved or other items stolen.

Detectives yesterday conducted door knocks of the area, while scenes of crime officers looked for clues around the house.

All four men are described as tall and of solid build and were wearing dark clothing and masks.

Police are appealing for anyone who heard or saw anything unusual in the area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Investigations are continuing.

UPDATE: Police have found the Toyota Landcruiser that was stolen during a violent home invasion at Pine Mountain early this morning.

A man and woman were woken by four masked men at their Glen Ross Dve residence about 4am. The woman was assaulted and tied up with duct tape.

Three firearms, cash and other items were stolen before the men fled in the victims' black 2008 Landcruiser.

Police are still unsure of how the men forced entry to the home.

Detectives are conducting door knocks of the area and scenes of crime officers are examining the house.

EARLIER: Police are investigating a burglary at Pine Mountain early this morning during which a man and a woman were assaulted before property was stolen.

Around 4am four men have forced entry to the Glen Ross Drive address and entered a bedroom waking a man and a woman. The woman was assaulted then tied up with duct tape.

The man was punched and also restrained with duct tape before property, including cash and a four-wheel drive were stolen.

The four men fled the home taking the four-wheel drive which is described as a black Toyota Landcruiser bearing Queensland registration 309LNK.

A 59-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man were treated at the scene for minor facial injuries.

All four men are described as tall and of solid build and were wearing dark clothing and masks.

Police are appealing for anyone who heard or saw anything unusual in the area to contact Crime Stoppers.
