THE finest produce from one of Australia's food bowls will be on show in Aratula tomorrow.
The Aratula Winter Harvest Festival, the signature event of the Scenic Rim Eat Local Week, will show off the finest produce and goods from the region.
The Aratula Community Sports Complex will host the second annual event which features food stalls, live music, children's rides and the hotly contested Tractor Pulling Competition,
This year the festival will see more than 30 stalls selling everything from hot food to fresh produce, baked goods, jams, relishes, olives, cheese and local meat.
That's before the main event - the Tractor Pulling Competition - which pits teams of 12 against a 12-tonne John Deere tractor.
The team that pulls the tractor more than 20 metres in the fastest time wins a share of $3000 for their favourite community or sporting club.
For the first time, the festival will also include a junior tractor pull where younger teams of locals muscle up against a 1.8-tonne Boomer tractor.
Scenic Rim Mayor John Brent said the event was highly competitive and some teams had been training for weeks.
"Make no mistake, the tractor-pulling event is serious business," he said.
The Winter Harvest Festival runs from 10am to 4pm.
