As of 12pm the Hwy remained shut and police continued to divert traffic while waiting for heavy haulage units to arrive and remove the truck.

The spokeswoman said motorists were urged to avoid the area.

Despite initial QPS reports the road would be closed for three hours, the spokeswoman said there was no estimated time for when the road would be open.

It comes as a deluge causes further mayhem on southeast Queensland roads today.
