Man dies following horror single-vehicle crash

The 24-year-old passenger of a car driven by a 17-year-old has died after the vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree west of Brisbane.

A 24-year-old man has died and a teenage boy is in hospital after a serious crash in the Ipswich area yesterday.

It’s understood the 17-year-old boy was driving a white Isuzu D-Max along Ipswich Boonah Road at 4.30pm on Monday when it left the road and crashed into a tree.

The 24-year-old passenger, who was from the Ipswich area, died at the scene.

The teenager, who was also from the Ipswich area, was flown to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ipswich Boonah Rd was closed in both directions for more than seven hours as forensic police investigated the cause of the crash.

Investigations are ongoing.
