Inner City Bypass crash causes major Brisbane peak hour delays
A crash in the RNA Tunnel has caused major congestion, with delays of almost an hour.
Commuters have faced facing major delays this morning after a single-vehicle crash in Brisbane city caused significant congestion.
Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle crash on the Inner City Bypass in Bowen Hills about 7am.
The vehicle hit a road barrier on the northbound lane, causing the major traffic gridlock.
Queensland Ambulance Services is on scene and have not reported any serious injuries.
At its worst, about 8am, queues were stretching back more than 16 kilometres along the ICB to the Riverside Expressway, and on to the Pacific Motorway at MacGregor.
Motorists are faced a possible journey time of 90 minutes to travel from MacGregor to Bowen Hills as a result.
By 8.50am, inbound traffic on the Inner City Bypass at Herston remained heavy, with queues stretching from Victoria Park to the Riverside Expressway.
Northbound queues have slowly begun to clear along the Riverside Expressway, but heavy congestion remains in stretches along on the Pacific Motorway between Eight Mile Plains and the city.
Traffic along Coronation Drive in Milton was also impacted, while there were also long delays along Ipswich Rd in Annerley, and Annerley Rd through Fairfield and Dutton Park, as commuters sought alternative routes.
