Heavy congestion on Pacific Motorway northbound after truck loses its wheel and crashes

A truck crash blocked northbound lanes of the Pacific Motorway on the Gold Coast, causing hour delays and more than 12km of congestion on Tuesday morning.

Traffic has now cleared after a truck that lost its wheel and crashed on the Pacific Motorway at Robina on the Gold Coast during the early hours of Tuesday morning blocked two northbound lanes and caused hour-long delays.

Traffic has now cleared but there is some congestion in the area meaning minor delays should still be expected.

The truck lost a wheel and crashed at 3.10am this morning just off ramp of the Pacific Motorway in Robina. There were no serious injuries reported from the incident.

Police blocked off two lanes heading northbound from Robina into Brisbane.

Long delays of more than an hour from Tallebudgera to Mudgeeraba could initially be expected for commuters.

Police urged drivers to seek an alternative route.
