CONTROVERSIAL Logan City councillor Hajnal Black has blamed the attention from several courtroom battles for ruining her marriage.

Ms Black, 34, told the Supreme Court in Brisbane her marriage to fellow Logan councillor Sean Black was in tatters as a result of a myriad of cases stemming from a dispute over whether she mishandled the money of a dementia patient.

The colourful councillor returned to the courts for a one-day civil hearing to decide whether the patient - a long-time mentor, "father figure" and retired barrister - had gifted her a house he owned at Greenbank, on Brisbane's southern outskirts.

Justice David Boddice scheduled the hearing after Ms Black failed to appear in his court - saying she was feeling unwell and too busy to attend court - the day before she did the same thing at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Ms Black did appear in court for yesterday's hearing, but then asked for the matter to be adjourned yet again.

"Defending myself is very difficult.

"I'm swimming against the tide here," Ms Black said before asking to sit because she was feeling dizzy.

Ms Black then launched into a long monologue about how she had so far been unfairly treated by the courts.

After being allowed to speak uninterrupted for more than 15 minutes, Justice Boddice stepped in saying: "This matter has gone on long enough Ms Black.

"Don't try and rewrite history. It is simply not true, what you're saying.

"The fact of the matter is you didn't turn up (to the magistrates court). That's why an arrest warrant was issued."

Ms Black also complained that the Court of Appeal had failed to give her sufficient time to file material in another case she is disputing.

Justice Boddice told Ms Black that court had in fact given her an extension.

"You breached (that) court order (too). Don't sugarcoat the truth," he said.

Ms Black told the court that the highly publicised events had ruined her marriage.

Ms Black, is defending action taken by the Public Trustee of Queensland - which is chasing millions of dollars formerly controlled by a retired barrister.

Earlier this week, Ms Black was found guilty in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court of four counts of failing to declare items on a register of interest with Logan City Council.

She was fined $3500 for the breaches and ordered to pay $5000 in costs of court.

Justice Boddice reserved his findings.
