While the temperatures have dropped, much to the relief of all, Gympie will still reach a balmy top of 32 degrees today- with the hottest time between noon and 3pm.

While there is the chance of a storm in the greater area this afternoon he said there is only a slight chance Gympie will receive anything, with the main event going to our inland neighbours, but showers may still persist in the afternoon.

So if you don't mind a little rain tickle from the rain that picnic or lovely long walk is still on the cards, but if you'd prefer not to risk it here are 5 things to do in Gympie when it's raining:

5. Snuggle in at the library

FOR a romantic outing that won't cost a cent spend a while in any of the six libraries across the Gympie region, with sites in Gympie (main library), Goomeri, Imbil, Kilkivan, Rainbow Beach and Tin Can Bay, where you can bond over your loves of books.
