OLD bras are in demand while pink buns are on hand at Gympie’s Bakers Delight.
The store is asking Gympie residents to drop in their old bras and pick up a pink finger bun in aid of breast cancer.
Gympie Bakers Delight spokesperson Jess Budgen said the store would donate all old bras collected to an overseas charity.
She said, in addition, 100 per cent of proceeds from the sale of pink finger buns would go to the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA). The store is also selling packs of strawberry and creme tarts with $1 from each sale going to BCNA.
Bakers Delight celebrates a 10-year partnership with BCNA. In this time its bakers and staff across Australia have raised more than $3.7 million to support thousands of women and their families in their breast cancer journey.
As part of the BCNA initiative Field of Women thousands of women will take the field at Melbourne’s MCG during the Melbourne versus Western Bulldogs AFL match on Friday, May 7.
Gympie residents can win a trip to participate by voting for their favourite pink bakery at pinkbun.com.au before May 5.
