Gympie hockey star Vicki Hyam has risen above the rest to take the crown as the region’s top talent in the sport, at least according to the people’s choice vote.

Hyam finished with 39 per cent of the final vote, followed by Nathan Stephens with 18 per cent and Lachlan Kenman and Jack Bambling tying for third on 13 per cent.
Hyam has represented Gympie in the Queensland Masters hockey titles in past years, among other accolades.
The result will be music to the ears of Hyam’s voters, including Roslyn Grady who said: “Vicki Hyam, best player I’ve ever seen.”
