Whitney Turner voted Gympie region’s best nail technician
Out of 19 finalists, only one amazing artist could be crowned the best nail technician in the region.

Gympie region is home to some highly talented nail technicians, evident from the more than 180 comments posted to Facebook nominating who people thought was the best.
Out of 19 finalists, 26-year-old Whitney Turner from La Mode Hair and Beauty was voted number one, sealing 23 per cent of the votes.
Coming in second place was Carly Jurss, with 14 per cent of the votes, and third place was a tie between Sarah from Olah Nail Bar + Boutique and Clancy Pearce from Creations by Clancy, both securing 13 per cent of the votes.
Congratulations to them all.
Ms Turner said she first began as a hairdressing apprentice at La Mode Hair and Beauty in 2016, which secured her a job there.
“I just have always loved doing nails...I just sort of got into it and never really stopped,” she said.
She said there was no secret to her success, just that she loved what she does.
She also said her favourite part of her job was making people feel beautiful.
“I really feel like I can bring that out in their nails...I just love making people feel really good about themselves.”
She said she doesn’t have a favourite shape of nails, but she loves nails with plenty of artwork.
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and relaxing.
