Gympie temperatures plummeted over the weekend.

THE past two mornings proved winter is not going to leave us without making itself known.

This morning got down to a chilly 5.2 degrees at 6.20am, but it had nothing on Sunday morning, which got down to 2.1 degrees at the same time making it our coldest morning of the month.

But just like the perfect winter days, the cold mornings are balanced with clear skies and warm day time temperatures; Sunday reached 24 degrees and today's early morning fog patches will clear to make way for an expected 25 degrees.

The rest of the week is expected to hover around the same maximum temperatures, while Spring will start to work its magic, with minimums ranging more comfortably between 9 and 14.

Some wind is expected tomorrow; becoming easterly 15 - 20kmh in the early afternoon before easing up in the late afternoon.

There is a slight chance of showers on Wednesday and Thursday, with the chance of rain increasing into Friday and Saturday.
