Northern Gympie region residents have been told to avoid smoke while non-threatening fires continue to burn over the coming days.
As of late Tuesday afternoon the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service says smoke is currently affecting Tiaro, Bauple, Glenwood and surrounding suburbs.
“Smoke may affect the area for the coming days,” the QFES statement said.
QFES did not specify what was causing the ongoing smoke coverage, but confirmed there was no direct fire threat to any properties as of the Tuesday afternoon bulletin.
