The Gympie Facebook call-out on Monday night sparked an avalanche of responses from our Facebook followers; all nominating where they reckon the best hot chips are to be found in the Gympie.

We’ve put together a poll so you can vote and make it official. We want to celebrate the place where most people believe the best chips for kilometres around can be purchased.

It might sound frivolous but it’s important to celebrate the good stuff in our region.

Jessica Benton nominated Gympie Fish and Chips.

“Add their garlic aioli (best I’ve ever tasted) and you’re in heaven,” she said.

Vicky Weisz reckoned she made the best chips in Gympie, thanks to ‘good spuds and my air fryer”. And she wasn’t the only reader who claimed hers were the best.

Simon Cassar got a few laughs and likes when he suggested the best chips in Gympie came from Laminex at Toolara.
