Ute, car collide on Bruce Highway near Curra

One person has been taken to hospital and five others treated at the scene after two cars collided on the Bruce Highway that has slowed holiday traffic north of Gympie.

Police have alleged road rage was a factor in a two-car crash near Curra which slowed Bruce Highway holiday traffic to a crawl.

Paramedics, fireys and police officers were called to the intersection of the Bruce Highway and Harvey Siding Rd after a ute and a Toyota 86 collided about 18km north of Gympie.

The two vehicles collided just after 9.15am Monday.

Police said there was an “incident” between the drivers following the crash, with an officer at the scene alleging “road rage” was involved.

Six people were assessed by paramedics at the scene; one was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

The highway remains open but northbound traffic is experiencing delays.
