Two single-vehicle roll overs

Two separate roll-overs in the region.

A FEMALE was the only occupant of a car which hit a tree and rolled over at Lower Wonga Hall Rd, Lower Wonga yesterday afternoon.

Gympie Fire and Rescue officers attended the crash at 2pm, but the woman did not need need help being removed from the car.

No information could be obtained about the driver’s injuries.

On Friday afternoon, a young adult male suffered minor injuries when the vehicle he was driving rolled over on Jimbour Rd about 4pm.

The driver suffered swelling to the face and abrasions to his hands and face.

He was taken to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver’s mother expressed her gratitude on Facebook to the people her helped the young driver after the accident:

“A huge thanks to all the people who helped our son Jacob age 19 after his car accident on Friday afternoon at The Palms,” Melissa Derksen wrote.

“We are very lucky to have an unknown caring neighbourhood. Thanks to the fire service, police, ambulance and Gympie hospital staff.

“We are very very lucky he was not seriously injured. We have lived in the Palms and nor met many neighbours in the year we have lived here but I thank all the unknown helpers that helped him that day- so very grateful.”
