Truck drivers injured in crash at Monkland

Police, fire and ambulance service are on the scene of an accident on the Bruce Highway on the southern outskirts of Gympie, where at least two people have been injured.

The collision at the corner of Hall Road and the Bruce Hwy was believed to be between two trucks, and was reported to emergency services shortly before 3pm.

Two people were treated at the scene for injuries. The crash has reduced traffic heading south to one lane, an eye witness reported.

Steady rain has fallen throughout the Gympie region and south east Queensland today (Monday) creating hazardous conditions on many roads, exacerbated by heavy school holiday traffic.
