Tool Kit Depot opens near Bunnings in Gympie

Located near the Bruce Highway on the southern outskirts of the city, the depot will be the first franchise on the entire east coast of Australia.

The Gympie Bunnings precinct just south of the city will soon be home to the first Queensland Tool Kit Depot, a subsidiary business of the Bunnings Group.

When it opens, the business will be the first Tool Kit Depot retail store on the East Coast of Australia.

The business is in the process of moving into a new building recently completed in the precinct adjacent to the Bruce Hwy and on the southern outskirts of Gympie, as the South Australian franchise expands across the country.

Half of the building already accommodates Lifestyle 4x4.

Construction on the project is expected to be completed on November 14, 2022, with doors to open to the public shortly after.

Tool Kit Depot is touted as a one stop shop for tradespeople.

“We sell only the most respected brands of power and hand tools, safety and protective gear, outdoor power equipment and more,” they said.

“Our range is epic – but we’re not just a tool supermarket. Our full-service workshop offers expert servicing and repairs, plus tool hire to keep you working.”

Tool Kit Depot head of operations Remy Horsfall said bringing the first store in Queensland to Gympie was a no-brainer.

“Gympie is such an important base for trades in the region,” he said.

“It’s a natural place for us to invest in our very first store in the state and we can’t wait to welcome customers through the doors.”
