GYMPIE residents have been crying foul after hearing the news that television and radio megastars Hamish and Andy might not make it for the opening of our new spinning KFC bucket.
The duo was responsible for making the Gympie KFC bucket ground zero in a push to get all KFC buckets spinning around the globe, but the duo seems to have lost their appetite for the contents of Gympie's world-first re-spinning bucket and might not show.
The Gympie Times phone lines rang hotter than a KFC chip fryer yesterday as the bad news spread.
Gympie KFC connoisseurs were angry, saying KFC officials shouldn't flick the switch on the ground-breaking bucket until Hamish and Andy give it their finger-lickin'-good seal of approval.
One caller said Andy was chicken and that he was hen pecked by his girlfriend - hot and spicy supermodel Megan Gale - about the amount of KFC he was eating.
“He should bring Megan along. She'd love to tuck into some KFC - she needs a good two-piece feed,” the anonymous caller said.
“Hamish loves to wing it on radio, but he needs to grow some and fly to Gympie,” another caller crowed.
“They had us all up in the air about coming to Gympie and now they dropped us like a box of 10-day-old nuggets,” she said.
The Gympie Times tried to contact the famous duo yesterday to get a response to their apparent ducking of the KFC bucket opening.
Hamish and Andy, however, seemed to laying low; their phone rang longer than a KFC queue on a Friday night.
It appears the celebrities have flown the coop and are keeping their movements close to their chicken breasts.
One very disappointed Gympie KFC and Hamish and Andy lover has set up a Facebook page to try and pressure the duo to rethink their plans.
