A VINTAGE display of hockey by the Heat's David Innis was the highlight of the Cooloola side's one all draw with Brothers on Saturday.
Innis, playing in the midfield, had a blinder, setting up numerous Heat attacking raids. Heat spokesperson David Dixon said it was one of the best games he had seen Innis play.
“Dave has been working on his fitness and it is really starting to pay off,” Dixon said.
The Heat took the lead in the first half when neat passing in the circle from Dean Walker to a flu-affected Mitchell Kuether and on to Codey Warhurst saw the striker guide the ball past the keeper.
The Heat's forwards had numerous chances in front of goal in the first half, but were unable to capitalise and went to half time with only the one goal advantage.
Brothers rallied in the second half and scored the equaliser off a penalty corner to level the game.
The match then went end-to end with both teams having chances, but when the fulltime hooter went the score remained locked at 1-1. Dixon said missed opportunities in the first half cost the Heat.
