GYMPIE'S Under 19 representative cricket side will continue its assault on the Goodchild Shield when they size up Hervey Bay next weekend.

GYMPIE'S Under 19 representative cricket side will continue its assault on the Goodchild Shield when they size up Hervey Bay next weekend.

Gympie Cricket president Bob Blackburn announced the players selected in the team for the second match of the competition held between Bundaberg, South Burnett, Hervey Bay and Gympie.

Blackburn said Gympie was well placed ahead of the clash against Hervey Bay.

"The side did really well in their opening game against South Burnett played at Albert Park and posted a great win.

"We have a great side full of talent and I think they will have every chance of doing well," he said.

Many of the players who formed part of the team against South Burnett will return for the second round match.

Shaun Wilson and Langley Johnston are notable additions to the side following their recent return from Brisbane where they played as members of the South Queensland side in a bid to gain selection for the Queensland Country Side.

Gympie team selection consists of Lewis Waugh, Langley Johnston, Josh Brady, Nathan Briggs, Jim White, Luke Gear, Brandon Sauer, Damien Cridland, Dan Macklin, Guy Preston, Ryan Gottke and Shaun Wilson.
