The club is raffling a three-door Barina package valued at $18,000 as a major fundraiser for the year, with proceeds going toward the Junior Rugby League Development Fund.

Junior Devils president Ross Groundwater said the raffle was much more than a car draw, with 30 other prizes, valued around $10,000, up for grabs.

These include barbecues, outdoor settings and electronic and tyre packages.

“A $50 ticket gets you entry into the car draw, entry into the three other rounds of minor prize draws and a ticket for two people to the four draws with complimentary refreshments and nibbles,” Mr Groundwater said.

“It's around $30,000 worth of prizes,” he said.

“Proceeds from the raffle will allows us to get Burnsie (Darren Burns) out to the schools promoting rugby league and his Smarter Choices Program. It helps us increase the amount of juniors playing the game and that flows on to the seniors.

“The Smarter Choices Program teaches all kids both boys and girls about the benefits of staying active.”

Mr Groundwater said the raffle, the first of its kind for the junior league, would be drawn on December 3. The other draws are on November 19, October 22 and October 1. You'll need to get in quickly because there are only 1000 tickets which need to be sold by September 30.
