IT'S ladies day today at the Mitsubishi Motors Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic and the girls will be dressed up in all their finery ready for all of the fun of the beach ball.

Event co-organiser Linda Adam said ladies' day was all about fun and dressing up.

“It starts about 10am at the Recreation Club before the girls parade down the main street in costume for coffee and then on to the beach,” Ms Adam said.

“There will be lots of prizes and games put on by sponsors Zinc FM and Fosters.”

Ms Adam said the fun didn't get in the way of fishing and there were extra prizes for the girls on ladies' day.

“All the ladies will get a prize and there will be special prizes for the girls at weigh-in as well,” she said.

Yesterday was a little overcast at the beach, but calm seas allowed the reef fisherman over the bar and many returned with good catches.

Ms Adam said the charity bingo held in the Rainbow Beach Sport and Recreation Club yesterday went well with a lot of money raised for local charity.
