Shores start Bluewater Lodge build

BUILDERS for Rainbow Shores Pty Ltd have cleared the first blocks for the new 36-townhouse Bluewater Lodge development at Rainbow Beach.

BUILDERS for Rainbow Shores Pty Ltd have cleared the first blocks for the new 36-townhouse Bluewater Lodge development at Rainbow Beach.

Construction of the first 12 three-bedroom luxury lodges is underway.

The lodges are expected to sell from around $465,000.

The nearly half a million dollars will get you a three-bedroom, two-bathroom, one-carport residence within 300 metres of the beach.

Included in the resort-style surroundings is a 20-metre lap pool, outdoor heated spa, professionally-equipped gym along with Rainbow Shores’ current nine-hole golf course and restaurant.

Rainbow Shores spokesperson Andreas Krauchi wasn’t available for comment yesterday because he is currently overseas, but his advertising said the development was designed to be in harmony with the natural features of the area.

It said the modern beach houses would allow new residents to live right amongst the natural beauty of the Cooloola Coast.

Blue Water Lodges is being built behind the current Pavilion Restaurant and shops at Rainbow Shores and is part of the Rainbow Shores Stage one development application.

The controversial Rainbow Shores Stage two development was stopped by the Queensland Government in August 2009, but Rainbow Beach residents are waiting on an expected court case to see if the development will get final approval.

Meanwhile, the Queensland State Government has stopped developing an Inskip Point Master Plan until the Rainbow Shores decision has been finalised – a decision Cr Larry Friske says leaves the coastal community in limbo.
