Take a walk down memory lane to reflect on the past glitz and glamour of the decades of Showgirl competitions across the region.

The annual Show Day is a treasured part of the Gympie region social calendar, with families, competitors and tourists packing up for the showgrounds and days of fun and festivity.

Showgirl have long been a beloved part of the event, serving as the faces of the show, and serving as a friendly guide to the ins and outs of regional shows.

With Gympie’s 2023 Show looming on the horizon (18 – 20 May) take a nostalgic look back to the faces, smiles, glamorous gowns and generous hearts that have contributed to shows’ sensational success across the years.

Here are some of the amazing stars from the past decades from the Gympie Show.

1988 Gympie Showgirl – Robynne Bishop

Apprentice hairdresser Robynne Bishop was rewarded for her massive fundraising efforts when she was selected as 1988 Gympie Show Princess and Miss Charity Showgirl at the centenary Show Ball.
