TIN Can Bay youngsters have a new pool thanks to Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and his Economic Stimulus Plan.
The new wading pool and its associated shade structures cost $50,000 and it is money well spent, according to Gympie Regional Mayor Ron Dyne. “The large pool had a minimum depth of 1.2m,” Cr Dyne said.
“It was too deep for young children.”
The new wading pool has a variable depth from half to one metre and would allow children to build confidence in the water before learning to swim.
