Revealed: Gympie’s million-dollar shop sales in 2023
New data has revealed 33 commercial property deals including several motels and a strip where a Guzman Y Gomez is now being built, have been made since January. See where, when and for how much they sold.

Housing prices may dominate the conversations but no shortage of hot deals have have been sealed in commercial property across the Gympie region in 2023.
CoreLogic RP data reveals 33 deals for commercial land have been made since January, with almost half of them breaking the million-dollar mark.
Motels were the hottest items with three sales drawing six figure prices, including one motel that cleared $2million.
Shops in the centre of Gympie were popular choices, with several million dollars and ownerships changing hands in and around Mary St.
The sales occurred on the back of an increase in commercial land values across the region of 3.3 per cent, with the total value of commercial land more than $235 million in 2023.
17 Violet St, The Shady Rest Motel
Sale details: March 1, 2023, $2.665 million
This motel sitting just off the Bruce Hwy, and in clear view of passing motorists on the Bruce Hwy heading through the city, was sold in the first quarter of 2023 for $2.665 million.
1-6 / 115 River Rd, Gympie
Sale details: May 29, 2023, $2.1 million (Multi-sale)
This strip of shops was bought as a group in May, and has since been almost entirely demolished to make way for a new Guzman Y Gomez fast food restaurant under construction at the site and due to open in early 2024.

Sale details: January 19, 2023, $2.05 million (Multi-sale)
These properties located in the heart if the CBD were sold together for $2.05 million.
30 Duke St, Gympie
Sale details: February 8, 2023, $1.85 million
The one-time home of Gympie’s beloved Blockbuster video store, before VHS died out, was sold in 2023 for $1.85 million.

Sale details: April 14, 2023, $1.7 million
This complex next door to Gympie’s Transport and Main Roads office, and only one road removed from the Bruce Hwy, was sold for $1.7 million.
41-43 Mary St, Gympie
Sale details: June 7, 2023, $1.3 million
This quartet of shops and miners’ cottage sitting between Mary St and Nash St, not far from the five ways roundabout, was snapped up for $1.3m in June.
RP data shows it was floated back on the market in September.

Sale details: March 19, 2023, $1.235 million
The only service station on the list achieved the ninth highest price for a commercial property in the region at $1.235 million.
Records show it has been a fixture at Imbil Island Rd since at least 1960.

Sale details: March 30, 2023, $1.15 million
This block with three offices, reception area and eight parking spots and sitting less than 100m from Gympie Central Shopping Centre sold in march for $1.15 million.
99 Noosa Rd, Monkland
Sale details: April 28, 2023, $1.1 million
This block not far from Hall Rd and its adjoining industrial estate is currently home to Gympie Auto Wreckers, and boasts reception space on the ground floor and office space on the mezzanine.
2 McGregor St, Goomeri Motel
Sale details: May 24, 2023 $1 million
This two-storey, 10-room 3.5 star motel about an hour west of Gympie and sitting on the Wide Bay Hwy was snapped off the market for $1 million.
10 Goondi St, Rainbow Beach
Sale details: February 10, 2023, $1 million
Wrapping up the list was this commercial property located in part of Rainbow Beach’s industrial section, sold for $1 million in early February.
