A little boy was rushed to hospital from Rainbow Beach after an incident in a pool on Monday night. Here is what we know:

A young boy has had a rough start to the Easter school holidays after he was taken to the Gympie Hospital on Monday night following a diving accident at a Rainbow Beach pool.

Paramedics were called to the scene off Rainbow Beach Rd at 7.34pm, after reports of a diving accident.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the little boy had hit his head after diving into the pool, but could not confirm finer details.

They could not confirm an age for the boy, either.

He was taken to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition with minor neck pain.
