Rainbow Beach kindergarten approved for 2022

After a lengthy campaign by Rainbow Beach families and educators, 2022 enrolments are being accepted for a Rainbow Beach kindergarten. SUBSCRIBE for the exclusive details.

A kindergarten will be added to Rainbow Beach State School in 2022.

A new kindergarten has been approved for the Rainbow Beach State School, with enrolments for 2022 already open.

The Rainbow Beach P & C made the announcement on social media on December 6.

“Fantastic news!!! We will be having Kindy at Rainbow Beach SS in 2022.”

The idea has been in the works for months, with an early Facebook post made by the Rainbow Beach State School P & C Group suggesting the opening of a new kindergarten dating all the way back to early June.

The P & C posted this pitch:

“The Queensland Government is committed to giving all our children a great start. This includes supporting all kindergarten aged children to have access to an improved quality early childhood education program in the year before full-time school.

“Currently, many children in our community do not attend a kindergarten program.

“Access to a high quality kindergarten program is one of the few proven strategies for lifting outcomes for children in their education, health and life. Kindergarten programs not only provide children with a solid foundation for their future social, emotional and academic development, but play a key role in supporting children’s successful transition to school.”

On December 6, the P & C announced it was hosting an information and registration evening where parents could register interest in enrolment.

The P & C plans to host another event where it plans to answer questions about the project but no date has yet been set.

The Gympie Times reached out to Rainbow Beach State School for comment but at time of publication there was no response.
