Developer SFS Supplies has unveiled plans to transform the commercial complex at 11-17 Tozer St, which is home to several popular businesses.

These include The Real Body Movement gym, Wide Bay Hydraulics, and NCF Welding and Fabrication.

The existing building is on a slope, with the commercial space split across several floors.

All are expected to stay in the newly renovated building, if approved by Gympie Regional Council.

In its application the developer said it wanted to build an additional upper floor and expand the building to its north.

The redevelopment would increase the commercial floor space by more than 40 per cent, from 1678sq m to 2418sq m.

This would allow for the gym’s expansion, and open the door to new opportunities, including food outlets, offices and hardware supplies.

It said there was “little scope” to increase parking given the area’s constraints but the existing number of parking spots was “more than adequate” to cater for demand.
The northern expansion would be built on a new lot the developers plan to subdivide from the land, with each floor offering 230sq m of commercial space.
