Police hunt thieves after Rural Fire Service truck stolen near Gympie
A brazen heist has seen criminals target the very truck designed to save lives.
Police are on the hunt for a group of thieves after a fire truck was stolen from an Rural Fire Service shed near Gympie.
A Queensland police spokesman said initial investigations indicate the truck was stolen from the Neerdie RFS shed on Anderleigh Rd sometime between 3pm on Wednesday, December 10, and 8am on Thursday, December 11.
Police believe unknown people forced their way into the shed, stole the keys of an Isuzu Medium Attack six-tonne truck, and left along Anderleigh Rd in the direction of Gunalda.
The truck has since been located on a dirt track off Anderleigh Rd, Anderleigh.
Police are now appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage of the truck, or footage of the Neerdie area during the time the truck may have been stolen, to contact police.
