A former Subway worker, who secretly filmed up five women’s skirts, felt the long arm of the law when he faced Gympie Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Riley Miles Huntington, 18, pleaded guilty and was convicted of seven counts of visually recording the genital region of another person without their consent.
The court documents read Huntington first filmed a young woman, focusing on her undergarments, while she was sitting at the dining table.
Later that month, Huntington attended a party in Maryborough, where he filmed up the skirt of a young woman he barely knew and who had no idea he was filming.
Just one day later, he pulled back the trackpants of a sleeping 17-year-old girl and filmed her.
The court heard he also filmed the reflection of a naked girl showering on the bathroom tiles from underneath a closed bathroom door.
His last offence before being busted by police was filming up the skirt of his elderly grandmother’s carer.
Police noted he filmed several short videos while the carer was helping her grandmother get ready to go to town.
Upon her return, he hid his phone under the front door mat with only the camera lens exposed and filmed up her skirt where her private area was exposed.
Defence lawyer Chris Anderson told the court Huntington was under the influence of drugs at the time and had no desire to partake in any more “thrillseeking” behaviour now he was off the drugs.
The court heard all women had some form of undergarment on.
He was placed on probation for 18 months.
No conviction was recorded.
