Rider airlifted with serious injuries after Old Bruce Hwy crash
The rescue chopper has landed on the Old Bruce Highway south of Gympie blocking northbound traffic while a badly hurt motorbike rider is stabilised and flown to hospital.

A motorbike rider is being treated for “life threatening” head, chest, and abdomen injuries suffered in a crash on the Old Bruce Highway about 25km south of Gympie.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at Federal ab0ut 1.30pm after the bike crashed.
The motorbike became wedged in the lane divider of an overtaking lane, destroying several of the bollards.
Its front wheel was torn off by the impact.
The man, of unknown age, was treated by paramedics before being put onto a LifeFlight helicopter.
It has not yet been reported which hospital he would be flown to.
