Police are appealing for witnesses to a two-vehicle hit and run on the Bruce Highway at the northern end of Gympie on Monday afternoon.
In a media statement police said a silver Hyundai i40 was travelling north on the highway about 3.25pm when it was hit on the front passenger side by a silver or grey car trailer being towed by a white “Toyota-type” utility or dual cab.
The collision happened at the highway’s intersection with Oak St.
The ute did not stop to exchange details and instead left the scene, police said.
The incident is now under investigation and police are calling for any witnesses who observed it happen, or caught it on dashcam, to come forward.
