Nine people walk away from five-car pileup in Gympie
Emergency crews have been called to a crash involving five cars near Gympie’s tennis courts as steady rain already seen further south sets in.

Nine people have had a lucky escape, walking away from a five-car pileup in Gympie on Friday.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said units were called at 10.40am to the scene of the crash on Rowe St in Gympie, near the tennis courts at the intersection with Jane St.
On arrival crews found five vehicles had been involved in the crash, apparently due to the wet conditions prevailing in Gympie throughout the morning, the spokeswoman said.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said ambulances were called to the scene at 10.47am, with officers assessing nine people for injuries.
No serious injuries were reported and all people declined transportation to hospital, the spokeswoman said.
The QPS spokeswoman the road was cleared of any obstructions and traffic was flowing freely along Rowe St.
