A former Gympie businessman accused of distributing child exploitation material has now been charged with a separate count of possessing the material at a later date, too.
Nicholas James Green returned to Gympie Magistrates Court on Monday where it was revealed police had laid a second charge of possessing child exploitation material against the 42-year-old.
The new charge, dated April 18, 2025, is in addition to an allegation Mr Green used a carriage service to transmit, make available, publish, distribute, advertise or promote child abuse material on April 1, 2025.
Mr Green is a former co-owner of PC Place.
No pleas have been entered to either charge.
Solicitor Christie Mahoney asked the court if the existing bail on the allegation of distributing child exploitation material could be varied to line up with the bail Mr Green had been given on the possession charge.
Magistrate Bevan Hughes instead issued Mr Green new bail on both charges.
A brief of evidence was ordered for both charges, and Mr Green’s matter was adjourned until September 29, 2025.
Mr Green was excused from having to attend the next date his case was to be heard in person.
