Man in 60s with critical head injuries after Bruce Hwy crash at Chatsworth
Police have released new details about a crash in which a driver was critically injured after hitting a tree on the Bruce Hwy near Gympie.

Police are urging witnesses to provide dashcam footage or CCTV after a Gunalda man was critically injured in a crash at Chatsworth on Friday.
The 57-year-old man was flown to hospital with critical head injuries after being freed from a Ford Explorer on the Bruce Highway.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said a car was travelling northbound on the Bruce Highway near Reynolds Rd in Chatsworth when it left the road and collided with a tree about 12 noon.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the man was trapped in the vehicle, and three fire crews attended around 12.10pm to extricate the driver with cutting gear.
The man was freed from the vehicle at around 12.50pm, the QFES spokesman said.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man was treated at the scene for serious head injuries, and flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.
Witnesses, particularly anyone with relevant dashcam vision or CCTV, is urged to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.
