Gympie man pleads guilty to child abuse material as sentencing is delayed
A Gympie man's sentencing for child exploitation material has been delayed after prosecutors questioned a psychologist’s report into his offending.
Questions over a psychologist’s report is delaying the sentencing of a Gympie man caught with child exploitation material.
Brett Albert Barton pleaded guilty to possessing the illegal material when he appeared at Gympie District Court on Tuesday.
His sentencing was adjourned soon after, with Crown Prosecutor Alex Stark seeking to cross examine the psychologist who wrote a report into Barton’s offending.
The matter was adjourned until Thursday, December 4, 2025.
