Federal court liquidates Gympie Hampton Home Builders
A construction business with 84 jobs on its books in the six years since it started up has been liquidated after a push by the Tax Office.

A Gympie building company with more than $19 million of work on its books since 2018 has been liquidated by the federal court following a push by the Australian Taxation Office.
Hampton Home Builders was ordered into liquidation by Registrar Tim Luxton on Wednesday following a web conference, less than two weeks after an initial hearing on the matter.
An application to wind the company up was lodged by the Australian Taxation Office on May 28, 2024.
Information is not yet available on what grounds the ATO was seeking the company’s closure.
Hampton Home Builders was launched by Karen Robinson and John David in 2018.

The company’s licence was cancelled by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission in September 2023 after it was unable to meet financial requirements.
QBCC online records show it reported working on 84 jobs worth more than $19 million before its licence was cancelled.
On Wednesday the court ordered the company be wound up into insolvency.
KordaMentha liquidators David Johnston and Robert Hutson have been appointed to liquidate the company.
The court ordered the ATO’s costs of $2588.96 be reimbursed from the company’s assets, as provided under the Corporations Act.
