Drug drivers busted in Amamoor at Bohemian Beatfreaks festival
From cannabis to ecstasy, these drug drivers were all busted by cops on the same road in the Amamoor State Forest during the Bohemian Beatfreaks Festival.

Music festival patrons heading home from a wild night in the forest faced Gympie Magistrates Court on Thursday for driving after a weekend of doing drugs.
The Bohemian Beatfreaks Festival was hosted for the first time in the Amamoor State Forest in December last year, the same site used for the Gympie Music Muster.
Along Amamoor Creek Rd, police conducting roadside tests at an established enforcement site caught several drivers doing the wrong thing.
Here are four drivers busted drug driving in the Amamoor State Forest at the time of the festival:
Blake Keith Dingle Webster
Avocia man Blake Keith Dingle Webster, 24, pleaded guilty to driving with drugs in his saliva on Amamoor Creek Rd on December 5, 2022.
Police prosecutor Christie Mahoney told the court Webster had been doing “several drugs over the weekend” including MDMA.
At 9.40am, he was pulled over for a roadside drug test, the court heard.
The court heard Webster, who represented himself, worked as an electrician.
He was fined $150 and disqualified from driving for one month. A conviction was not recorded. He was placed on a restricted work licence.
Rafael Gomes-Soares
Surfer’s Paradise man Rafael Gomes-Soares, 33, pleaded guilty to driving with drugs in his saliva on Amamoor Creek Rd on December 5, 2022.
He was pulled over at 8.30am by police for a roadside drug test and was found with cannabis in his saliva.
He admitted to smoking cannabis two days prior and was returning to the Gold Coast, Sergeant Mahoney told the court.
Gomes-Soares, who represented himself, told the court he worked as a labourer for a flood insurance company.
He was fined $150 and disqualified from driving for one month. A conviction was not recorded.
Gabriel John Stapleton
Morningside man Gabriel John Stapleton, 20, pleaded guilty to driving with drugs in his saliva on Amamoor Creek Rd on December 5, 2022.
The court heard Stapleton admitted he had numerous drugs over the weekend, including MDMA and cannabis, after cops pulled him over and conducted a roadside drug test.
Defence lawyer Chris Anderson told the court he was on a P licence and was studying journalism at Griffith University.
He was fined $150 and disqualified from driving for three months. A conviction was not recorded.
Mehrdad Moazemi
Eight Mile Plains man Mehrdad Moazemi, 34, pleaded guilty to driving with drugs in his saliva on Amamoor Creek Rd on December 4, 2022.
Police found MDMA and cannabis in his saliva after Moazemi was pulled over about 8am.
He told the police he had not used drugs in the last seven days, Sergeant Mahoney told the court.
Mr Anderson told the court Moazemi owned a business with his wife in Brisbane.
He was fined $150, disqualified from driving for one month and a conviction was not recorded. He was placed on a restricted work licence.
