Police are appealing for witnesses after a mysterious blaze on the school’s grounds. Here is what we know:

Police are appealing for witnesses after a suspicious fire at Amamoor State School.

Gympie Senior Constable Darren Hewitt said in a statement on Thursday the fire, which gutted a shed on school grounds, had been started between 5.30pm on Monday, August 1, and 7am on Tuesday, August 2.

The shed stored a number of items including two mowers and a whipper snipper, all of which were destroyed in the blaze.

Senior Constable Hewitt said police are appealing for anyone in the area with any information regarding the fire to contact police.

It comes as an investigation into a house fire on Cartwright Rd in Gympie was launched on Thursday.
