Two pubs and a house in the Gympie region have been the subject of paranormal investigations in the first few months of 2023, with the latest overnight experience by the fearless YouTube team leaving them hungry for more.

The Kandanga Hotel in the Mary Valley has had an interesting history, and in 2023 was visited by a paranormal investigation team.

Paranormal night watchers intend to return to the Kandanga Hotel to investigate some unexplained activity there.

Night Watchers Paranormal Australia posted a YouTube video about Queensland paranormal investigators Dan Rickard and Simon Roydhouse and their findings following a night spent at the Mary Valley pub.

The night watcher pair decided to pay the Kandanga Hotel a visit after owners Kerry and Russell Willcocks reported their paranormal experiences in the building since buying it in 2020.

The hotel dates back to 1915 and was destroyed by a blaze in 2015 but reopened two years later.

Ms Willcocks told the night watchers she experienced some weird occurrences from the first week of owning the pub, including doors mysteriously opening and closing as well as beers, dishes, cutting boards and trays sent flying off tables and other surfaces.

Ms Willcocks even noted a creepy knocking on a window on various occasions, televisions turning on and staff reports of seeing a ghostly figure.

But the most spinechilling incident was a cash register computer screen cursor going “berserk” after the pub was closed.

The Facebook post on Night Watchers Paranormal Australia promised there would be more investigations at the hotel in the near future.

This was their third night spent in the Gympie region in the past 12 months after first probing the Freemasons Hotel in the Gympie CBD and then a private home in Kilkivan.

The Freemasons Hotel dates back to the 1800s, and Mr Rickard and Mr Roydhouse claimed they were the first paranormal investigators to visit the closed pub.

The investigators said the woman living in the Kilkivan Queenslander asked for answers after experiencing unusual bumps in the night for the past five years, including bed shaking, flying kitchenware and banging noises.

The pair promised to return to the home.
