STIRLING Homes Queensland was thrilled with the success of its new display home opening in St Andrew's Estate at Curra on Saturday.
Mayor Rob Dyne cut the ribbon to officially open the home and about 200 visitors enjoyed the sausage sizzle, prize giveaways, scavenger hunt and animal farm for children.
Stirling Homes business development officer Shawnee Collier said despite a wet morning, there was a great response.
"Everyone loved the house. It's so different - it's a combination of country and industrial with modern items. People were impressed with how large the house appeared for how many square metres it is," she said.
Al and Nugget from Zinc 96.1FM broadcast live to the event, dropping clues throughout the day for the scavenger hunt.
The hunt was launched from a clue on Facebook and participants ended their hunt at the display home opening with those arriving first winning a trip for two to Port Douglas.
Stirling Homes Queensland, led by Gympie builder Peter Bazzan and wife Karen, head of sales, attributed its success to its community roots and loyal customers.
"Customers like how they can deal with local people on a daily basis," Ms Collier said.
"Stirling Homes is a local company and Peter and Karen use local people and do the right thing by everyone in the community."
