Police investigate Pie Creek crash after man seriously hurt
A young man remains in a serious condition after his ute crashed into a tree near the Pie Creek sawmill at Langshaw.

Police say investigations are ongoing into an early morning crash near Gympie which left a young man seriously injured and trapped in the wreckage for almost 40 minutes.
The ute was travelling towards Gympie along Eel Creek Rd at Pie Creek just after 3am on Thursday when it veered off the road and hit a tree less than 1km from the Mooloo Rd intersection, adjacent to the Hope Reins charity property.
Fireys were forced to cut the man free from the wreckage, and were able to extricate him about 4am.

The man, aged in his 20s, suffered chest and leg injuries.
Paramedics and the critical care unit treated him at the scene, and he was taken to Gympie Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The ute will still at the scene of the accident on Friday, with a “Police Aware” sticker on the tray.
